Where can we embroider on a hat?
There are several standard industry placements; for caps there are 4 common locations front, back, and sides. On the front, companies can choose from a few placements – a medium to small design off center, a small design along the edge, or the most common a full center placement. The side placements are typically around the headband area on either the left or right side, and sometimes both sides. The back of the hat can be embroidered above the opening of an adjustable hat or on the lower band area of fitted and flexfit styles.
The most popular placement on a hat is front and center. The standard sizing is about 2″ x 2″, but we can embroider a design on the front panel as large as 5″ wide x 2.5″ tall and as small as 1/2″ x 1/2″.
If front and center isn’t what you are looking for, we can place your design to the left or right side of the front panel. The standard size for this placement is about 1.5″ x 1.5″ , however we can embroider an off center design as large as 2.5″ x 2.5″ and as small as a 1/2″ x 1/2″.
The front edge design can be added along side a center logo design or stand on it’s own. We can embroider a design in this area as small as a 1/2″ x 1/2″ and as large as 2.5″ tall.
We can also add a design to the sides of the hat to emphasize your brand, event, organization, team, etc. The standard size is 1″ x 1″. We can embroider the side panel as large as 2.5″ x 2.5″ and as small as 1/2″ x 1/2″. This detail is not limited to standard fabric caps, but can be added to the mesh sides as well.
The back of the cap is a great place to add a URL, business name, short slogan, or other text. This text can be up to 3″ wide and 1.5″ height.
Can we embroider on the bill of the hat?
We are not currently able to embroider on the bill of a hat. The process to do that type of customization requires the embroidery to be done before the hat is assembled. We can, however, customize hat bills with a heat seal treatment.
